Coach Sanni Ahmed Commends Governor Fashola.

Head Coach of Sadiku Street, Sanni Ahmed, has commended Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola for his determination to improved the standard of sports in the state through regular sponsorship of sporting activities.

The coach whose team was scheduled to play its matches at the Dairy Farm Secondary School, Agege Centre, also appreciated the efoorts of Commissioner For Youth, Sports and Social Development, Prince Ademola Adeniji-Adele and organizers of the annual MTN Lagos Street Soccer Championship.

Speaking after his team overwhelmingly defeated Olusanya Street by five goals to one, Ahmed said the competition was one of the best ways to occupy the youth of the state in positive endeavors.

The Coach whose street came second in group-B of the Agege Zone, believed that Sadiku Street could qualified for the final and win te tournament with the quality of football artistry displayed by his players in the group stage .

Meanwhile five goals hero of the group, Aminu Bangi, said his best was yet to come as he promised to wreck more teams with his goals prowess.

The 19-year-old football player who single-handedly wrecked Olusanya Street in his side second group-B match is full of big dream.

Bangi wants the National League team to scout for players in the Lagos/MTN Street Soccer Championship because the tournament is a platform for him to attract offer from Premier League clubssides in Nigeria.


At the Campos Mini Stadium, Lagos, about forty matches were played at the centre on Saturday and Sunday to determine who proceeds to the next round of the championship .

The Campos Square with AstroTurfs was divided into two for a hitch free 5 - A - Side competition as the the Lagos Island West and its East counterparts played simultaneously with almost all their streets in attendance.

The Lagos dance band was on hand to thrill about two thousand fans that came to watch scintillating matches at the venue.

Speaking with the match commissioner for the zone,Wale Akanni, said the standard of this year’s edition was high despite being the first match played at the centre.

In his own reaction, Bolaji Yusuf, Chairman of the Venues and Facilities of the MTN Lagos Street soccer competition said that the administration of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola should be commended for the initiative that affect the lives of the youths of the State positively, adding that its one of the way to build human capacity.
