
The Nigeria Basketball federation has set-up an 11-man league board to oversee the league in a bid to make the Nigeria league more vibrant.
The body is made up of NBBF 1st Vice-President Muktar Khaleh as chairman, representative of the sponsor, Dodan Warriors basketball club owner Colonel Sam Ahmedu representing teams in the Atlantic Conference, owner of Yelwa Hawks’s basketball club, Honourable Tanko Dutse representing teams in the Savannah conference.
Other members of the league board include president of the referee council, president of the Coaches Association, Brigadier General Saleh Bala, Datty Aminu, Deji Jaiyeola, Agboola Pinheiro with Secretary General of the NBBF, Francis Gbiri as Secretary.
The body will be inaugurated by the NBBF president this week and they are expected to begin work immediately.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Basketball Association, LSBBA will Tuesday hold an important stakeholders meeting of all interest group for the benefit of the slamming and dunking game in the Centre of Excellence.
The One-day meeting billed for the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere will also have the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Sports and Social Development in the state, Prince Ademola Adeniji-Adele in attendance.
According to the chairman of the state basketball association, Babatunde Ogunade, the main crux of the meeting is grassroot basketball development across the state and the Lagos City League.
