The Athletics Federation of Nigeria, A.F.N, has secured sponsorship from two firms, Saipem Contracting Nigeria Ltd and Desicon Limited to organize the third leg of the Golden League recently introduced to keep Nigerian athletes busy for the better part of the year.
President of the AFN, Solomon Ogba, said the two companies offered to support the Golden League as a way of helping Nigerian youths achieve their dreams.
Ogba, said apart from fulfilling their corporate social responsibility, the companies have shown that they have the capacity to help Nigerian youths to achieve the hear desire in their chosen profession.
Meanwhile, ten athletes are in the running for the One million naira jackpot on offer in the AFN Golden League whose third leg holds this weekend.
Top in the running to have a share in the money includes sprint star, Ogho-oghene Egwero, Josephine Omaka and Margaret Etim of Ondo State who won the first leg and second legs of the women 400 metre and 200 metre.
