The Executive Board of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF, has congratulated two former Nigeria International referees, Chris Obojememe and Steve Onisola for becoming Federation of International Basketball Association, FIBA graded Match Commissioners.
The duo who attended the International Technical Commissioners’ Course in Lome, Togo were successful in the examination conducted by FIBA top technical instructor, Lubor Kotleba.
The success attained by Obojememe and Onisola brings to four the number of international Match Commissioners with NBBF 1st Vive-President and President of FIBA Africa Zone-3 Muktar Khaleh and Col. Sam Ahmedu (Rtd) as the other two.
While wishing the two new Match Commissioners well in the discharge of their duties, NBBF President, Tijjani Umar said it is heartwarming to note that Nigeria now has two additional internationa Match Commissioners in Obojememe and Onisola.
The NBBF president urged the two new Match Commissioners to use their new position for the well-being of the game in the country and the continent at large.
President Umar says the federation is proud to have them (Obojememe and Onisola) counted among the country’s FIBA graded Match Commissioners as the federation will be willing to tap from their wealth of experience for the continuous development of basketball in the Nigeria.
“On behalf of the NBBF I want to congratulate are new addition to the list of FIBA badge Match Commissioners, Chris Obojememe and Steve Onisola in the recent FIBA cerified Technical Commissioners’ Course held in Lome, Togo.
“I also want to urge them to see their new position as a calling and must be up and doing and work closely with the federation for the continuous development of the game in Nigeria.
