Inclement weather has hindered Coach Samson Siasia’s tour of Europe to see some of Nigeria’s international players.
Despite the weather situation, Siasia was still able to hold talks with team captain Joseph Yobo and new kid Emmanuel Emenike.
Siasia arrived in Istanbul on Friday and met with skipper Yobo, a regular in the senior team in the past nine years as he met with promising youngster Emmanuel Emenike, a session the Coach described as ‘useful’.
However, on his way back to England, the poor weather situation compelled the pilot of the aircraft in which Siasia was flying to divert to Brussels, capital of Belgium where the Coach spent the entire day talking to some of his other charges on phone.
The weather situation has failed to improve in Europe and led to the cancellation of all English Premiership matches scheduled for Sunday, including the classic between champions Chelsea and leaders Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation has denied a report in an international website that Super Eagles’ Head Coach Samson Siasia personally sourced for money for his current tour of Europe.
Its Spokesman Ademola Olajire, said Samson Siasia’ trip to Europe was paid for by the Nigeria Football Federation.
He stressed that the Federation would be alive to its responsibilities as a football Federation and would not allow Siasia to go cap-in-hand soliciting for funds.
