Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Lagos Chapter, SWAN, has condemned the unruly attitude of the facility Manager, Lagos State, Godson Uti for deprieving sports journalists from carrying out their legitimate job during the Pro League Division One match between Bridge FC and Bayelsa United.
Uti, exhibited his administrative inadequacies and arrogance when as he denied Sports Writers covering the National League access into Agege Stadium.
This show of shame was displayed during the Pro League Division one match between Bridge FC and Bayelsa Unitedat Agege Stadium penultimate weekend.
To this end, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Lagos chapter has placed embargo on all activities of the Bridge Boys’ Football Club.
All explanations by sports enthusiats to allow the sports writers gain entrance into te stadium fell on deaf ears as Uti insisted that they must pay for them to have access into the match venue in order for them to report the match.
Uti said he has no business with sports writers and that if they must watch the match should pay for tickets to have access to cover the Bridge team and that there is nothing anyone can do to him since he has the backing of the State governor to generate funds for the state because they are not a charity organisation.
It was also observed that the outgoing Lagos FA chairman, Taiwo Affinnih’s plea was ignored by Uti as he made some LSFA board members to made to buy tickets before they could have access into the venue of the match on the instruction of the facility manager.
