No Need To Rush To Europe, Sunday Bada Warns.

The Athletic Federation of Nigeria,AFN, has said that the forthcoming Golden League would afford Nigerian average athletes to stay put in the country and participate in the AFN's programmes than rushing to Europe for competitions.

Its Technical Director, Sunday Bada, who made this remark in an interview with Nigeriasportnews.org, said the Federation has discovered that Nigerian athletes are in the habit of rushing to Europe to feature in competitions which are similar to Nigeria's Golden League, hence the reason the AFN has decided to repackage the event in such a manner that Nigerian athletes would prefer to stay put with AFN events.

He said AFN wants to encourage Nigerian athletes to participate in their events so as to develop the Golden League in a bid to avoid the situation where the Federation's Junior athletes would be compelled to feature in the league instead of rushing to Europe.

Bada, said the technical arm of the Federation has resolved to groom Nigerian athletes to a strong standard where they would be matured to travel to Europe to represent Nigeria at bigger athletic events, stressing that the gesture would help to create healthy rivalry among the athletes and enhance them to perform better at the All African Games in Maputo, Mozambique..
