Globacom Backs Supporters Club Award With 20 Million

The Nigeria Supporters Club has gotten the support of the Globacom Nigeria Limited ahead off the club's African Players Award which iis tentatively fixed for 22nd and 23rd of September, 2011 at the Eko Meridien Hotel, Victoria Island.

Its President General, Rauf Ladipo, who made this known in an interview with sportsweight.blogspot.com,said the telecommunication outfit which is he officiaal sponsor of the club has promised to back the club's programme with the sum of 20 million naira couple with a brand new car.

Ladipo, said the Globacom Nigeria had paved the way for Nigerian soccer fans to be part of the programme as the telecommunication firm had agreed to open a short code which would afford them the chance of sending a text messaage of their preferred African Player of the Year.

According to him, some African players had been nominated forr thhe award which is part oof the club's contribution towards encouraging the players tto excel at theeir respective clubbsides in Europe and beyond.
