
National Under 23 chief coach Austin Eguavoen is expected to embark on his European tour of players for the upcoming CAF Under 23 championship billed to hold next month in Morocco.
NFF Technical committee Chairman Barrister Chris Green would accompany him on the week long tour of select European countries.
In a Media release issued by the Team’s Media officer, Arafat Aliu, Coach Austin Eguavoen would visit over four European countries to see club directors over the release of players for the CAF Under 23 championship which serves as London 2012 Olympic Games qualifier.
“Considering the limited number of days available to the coach he would not be able to visit all the club directors. In any case he has already established contact with those that time would not allow him to see.” Stated Arafat Aliu.
“Letters have already been sent to the clubs, in Ukraine,Turkey and Israel as Coach Austin Eguavoen had earlier established contact with club directors of Dream team V players in these countries” he added.
The coaches seven day European tour is approved by the Nigeria Football Federation
According to the schedule, Eguavoen will meet with the management of Shefffield Wednesday in London where Uchechi Chima Daniel plays .
In the Netherlands, Eguavoen will meet VV Venlo F.C players, Ahmed Musa, Alex Nkume, Uchebo Okechukwu as he is alo expected to meet with PSV Eindhoven where Rabiu Ibrahim plays.
In Germany, he will visit Mainz F.C to discuss the release of Anthony Ujah as he would see Odion Ighalo of Granada F.C of Spain, Raheem Lawal Adewole of Atletico Belareas.
In Italy, Eguavoen will meet with Parma F.C where Obiora Nwankwo plays and also check on Nnamdi Oduamadi of Torino F.C and Daniel Adejo of Reginna F.C
He is expected to return to Nigerian on Staurday, 29th of October.
