M.O.C Applauds Fashola.

Lagos State Government has been commended for its continued commitment to host the 18th National Sports Festival, tagged EKO 2012, in November.

This was contained in a communique made available to Sportsweight.blogspot.com at the end of the first joint technical meeting of the EKO 2012,held on Saturday at the Sports Bar of the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

The meeting which was well attended by the secretaries General, technical directors of sports federations and states Diretors of Sports, charged the state government to speed up renovation and repair works to ensure that the relevant venues and facilities are ready on schedule.

The communique jointly signed by Abba Yola of Main Organising Committee and Kweku Tandoh of Local Organising Committee, noted that only twelve states had registered their intention to participate in the Games as only eleven states had registered the sports they intended to parade at the event.

While noting the progress made by the M.O.C at marketing the Festival Torch of Unity,the meeting was able to ratify te events for the five optional sports for the Games.
