Chief Coach of the U-20 Women National Team, Edwin Okon has been confirmed to witness the draw of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup billed for Tokyo, Japan on Monday, June 4.
Consequently, the Falconets coach, is expected to fly out tonight aboard a Lufthansa Airline from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
He will be accompanied on the the long distance journey by the team secretary, Faith Ben-Anuge with both officials landing the Asian country noted for its technological prowess on Sunday.
Speaking ahead of the global challenge, Okon has predicted a tough draw but is prepared to face the battle irrespective of the level of opposition.
"We are not going to relent in our effort just as we are very determined to make Nigeria happy at the forthcoming World Cup in Japan. No matter our opponents, we must be ready," he said.
During the qualifiers which ended a fortnight ago, Nigeria scored a total of 13 goals without conceeding a goal which Okon has praised his defenders for.
Two years ago, Nigeria shocked the world by reaching the final of the championship after overcoming USA in a dramatic semi final encounter that ended in a penalty shoot-out but bowed out to champions Germany.
The draw will be presided over by Tatjana Haenni, FIFA head of Women’s Competitions, and Junji Ogura, President of the Japan Football Association (JFA) and chairman of the Local Organising Committee.
The draw will determine the fixtures drawn into four groups, which will be played in Hiroshima, Kobe, Miyagi, Saitama and Tokyo from 19 August to 8 September 2012.
