Mr. The Commissioner for Youth, and Social
Development, Wahid Enitan Oshodi, has paid an unscheduled inspection visit to
the Agege Stadium which is nearing completion.
Oshodi during the inspection advised the contractor to ensure that the
completion deadline for the stadium is not extended.
This is because
the stadium has been earmarked to host football preliminaries while the
multipurpose hall is to host volleyball competitions of the 18th National Sports Festival tagged “EKO 2012” that would be hosted by Lagos State.
He
emphasized that no stone would be left unturned in the hosting of the
National Sports Festival that would match International standards
devoid of rancor and controversy. Oshodi then implored the contractor
to execute a perfect job and deliver at the appointed time.
Meanwhile
the stadium has played host to football matches of the on-going IBILE
Games 2012. This is to test run the extent of readiness of the stadium
for the 18th NSF “EKO 2012”.
Lagos has been adjudged to be 85% ready to host the 18th
NSF, the Honourable Commissioner said Lagos will continue to m,ake
progress towards the preparation to hosting a spectacular National
Sports Festival, he concluded.
