Former Super Eagles midfielder, Friday Ekpo, has said that the invitation of Mikel Obi and other natobale Nigerian foreign based football players should be based on the players zeal and commitment to the national team.
The foermer Abila Babes player, said head coach of Eagles, Stephen Keshi, should ensure that the invitation of players to Eagles camp was not base on the strenght of clubs the players play for in Europe but such players must endeavor to show Nigerians soccer administrators and fans that they are ready to make the nation proud.
Ekpo, said it would be an added advantage to the Eagles when the crop of Nigerian internationals who play in reputable clubs in Europe showed similar commitment totheir respective clubsides in Europe to the Eagles, adding that most of the players prefer to die on the field of play for their clubsides than the Eagles.
The former Nigerian internationals, who is impressed with Keshi's programmes, said the former Eagles defender had been able to give Nigerian home based football players a chance in the Eagles unlike in the past where it is difficult for a home based to start a match
He is optimistic that Nigeria's Super Eagles will qualify for the African Nations Cup,ANC, in South Africa because the team's recent performance in ANC and FIFA World Cup qualifiers showed that they are ready for the continental soocer fiesta.
