Its Head Event of Sponsorship, Modupe Thani, while speaking on Thursday at a pres briefing ahead of the 12th edition of the Governor's Cup Lagos Tennis which is billed to start between 12th and 27th of October, 2012 at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, said sports was a unifying factor in Nigeria as she appreciated the efforts of the Local Organising Committee in staging a world class tennis circuit which give Nigerian tennis players an opportunity to acquire skills from the quality of players that feature in the tournament.
She said partnering with the Local Oraginising Committee was part of their Civil Social Responsibility to give back to the society as she believed that the gesture would create a platform for the development of tennis in Nigeria.
"What we are looking at is giving back to the society.So we are trying to grow the game of tennis and we are happy to be part of Governor's Cup Lagos Tennis, GCTL.So it is not what we are taking but what we are giving."
