President Goodluck Jonathan To Hoist NSF Flag.

President Goodluck Jonathan will onSaturday at the Teslim Blaogun Stadium, Surulere, hoist the flag of the National Sports Festival tagged EKO 2012 Games.

Secretary, Main Organising Committee, Abba Yola, confirmed that a total of sixteen states governors had collected their sports track suits in readiness to be part of the event which signified that the states governors have identified with the spirit of the Games and that the competition has begun.


"It signifies that the Games are on and the States have identifiedwith the spirit of the Games." He made the statement on Thursday after inspecting sports facilities at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in readiness for the EKO 2012 Games billed for 27th of November through ninth of December.

 He said hoisting of the EKO 2012 Games flag was related to major international competitions such as the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and the All African Games where the Presidents along with the government officials visit the games village to hoist their flags.

 "Very important and significant.It laso happens at the Olympics,All African Games and Commonwealth Games and major Games in the world where the President along with the government officials go to the Olympic Village and hoist their flags".

On the inspection of facilities, Yola, said there would be a technical meeting today to harmonise the observations of the Sports Associations secretaries as well as their technical directors reports after inspecting the facilities for the EKO 2012 Games.

He added that the M.O.C would be willing to to give adequate support to the Lagos State government in staging a befitting Games.

He is optimistic that Lagos State Government would live up to expectations by surpassing Garden City Games hosted by the Rivers State Government in 201, stressing that the state has shown strong commitment towards to host the Games with the ongoing renovation works ahead of the EKO 2012 Games.
