Divine Warriors Force Bolowotan To A 2-2 Draw In Yenagoa.

Former Ocean Boys of Bayelsa now Divine Warriors forced Bolowotan football club of Ikorodu to a two all draw at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Matchday two of the Nigeria National League 2012/2013 season, yesterday 29th of December,2012.

 The home team opened the score sheet in the 45th seconds of play, thus scoring the fastest goal of the season, while Newman Musa got an equalizer for Bolowotan on the thick of 2 minutes of the first half.

After Newman's goal, the pride of Ikorodu were on rampage, controlling the pace of the game, dictating the tone comfortably as well, stringing passes right from the back line, connecting the midfielders in the middle of the pack, pushing forward, firing from all cylinders, mounting pressures on the home team, and they got second goal of the day through their new kid in the team, Aminu Azeez, who blasted in a long range effort from the midfield in the 21st minute of play.

Aminu Azeez saw yellow card in the 35th minutes of the game for a rough tackle, Divine Warriors rose to the occassion and defended so well, stood tall to block all Bolowotan area balls, and pushed forward as well, their resillence paid off as they got a penalty kick in the 41st minutes of play but Bolowotan safe hand, Tope Bankole denied the home team their equalizing chance as he punches the penalty kick away into the far corner of the post, the first 45 minutes ends with Bolowotan leading the home side by 1-2 in Yenagoa.

 The second half gets underway as both teams focused on getting a good result from the encounter, Divine Warriors came back into the game with high level of determination and powerful display, going forward, tormenting Bolowotan defence, with their runs, passes and shot, but all their effort yielded no goal but forced Bolowotan coaching crew to make changes in other to bring stability to the team.

Three players were subtituted, Seidu Abubakar who was playing in the midfield was subtituted for Omoniyi Odunlade Palu, Azeez Shafaru came in for Demola Ogulewe, Newman Musa was also subtituted for Ugochukwu Nwankwo.

 After the changes, there was stability in the team again, and they maintained possessions, played so well till the end of the 90 minutes, but they lost their away victory in the last minute of the 5 minutes added time where a free kick was awarded to the home team, which they converted, game ended in a 2-2 draw.

 Speaking to the club official website www.BolowotanFc.com, the coach of the club Samuel Olofu, hails his team for a wonder performance and says he is looking forward for an away victory in their next league game against Gabros Fc in Nnewi next weekend.

 "Before anything, I must commend my boys for this result, we would have nicked the three points but we let it slipped away in the last minutes of the game, we came here to win but we failed to do that, but I want to assure you that we are going into the next away game against Gabros Fc with a winning mentality, and we shall return back to Lagos with three maximum points" says the club gaffer.

 The Oga Boys dropped a point at home last weekend against Unicem Rovers of Calabar, as they were held to barren draw in their first league game in the NNL at the Agege Township Stadium.
