Lagos State Squash players have qualified for the final of the Men's and Women's Singles event in the Squash event of the National Sports Festival tagged EKO 2012 Games in an event decided on Tuesday at the Squash hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.
Wasiu Amao of
Lagos State qualified for the final after defeating Endurance Omosor of
Delta State by three set to one, 7 - 11, 12 -
10, 11 - 2, 11 - 2, making him the only Lagos State male squash player
that was able to achieve the feat.
In the second
semi final clash, Femi Shedara of Edo State outplayed Shola Thomas of
Rivers State by three sets to one, 11 - 7, 11 - 6, 10 - 12, 12 - 10.
To this end, Wasiu Amao of Lagos
Sate will confront Femi Shedara of
Edo State in the final to be decided on Wednesday.
In
the Women's Singles, Taiwo Ebifemi, of Lagos State scale throught the
semi final hurdle after beating Yemisi Owokole of OgunState by three
setsa to two, 11 -13, 11- 6, 11 - 4,6- 11, 11 - 6.
Taiwo
Ebifemi will now face Veronica Sunday in the final of Women's Singles
after Veronica defeated Yemisi Olatunji by three straight set.
