The officials of the Nigeria Football Association had already resolved to displace Stephen Keshi with the view of employing a foreign coach based on the peformance of the Eagles as the NFA had received the Curriclum Vitae of Herve Renard.

The NFA officials who could not obtain tickets t secure a seat at the V.I.P position had already decided to relief Keshi of is duty as the Eagles Head Coach ever before the semi final clash against Mali.
