The executive board of the Kogi state Football Association,FA, has pledged it full supports for the new appointed administrator, Mr Paul Aiyenugba for Kogi state-owned clubs.
The Chairman of the Kogi FA, Mr Adama Yahaya made the statement in a chat with newsmen on Monday, following the last weekend 1:0 win of the Lokoja based Nigeria National League side, Kogi United over vising Jos’ Plateau United at the Confluence stadium in Lokoja.
Mr Adama who believes the period for kogi state to own a club in the Nigeria Professional football League is long overdue, stated that the State FA under his leadership are fully ready to aid the new administrator in any capacity.
The Football administrator in an advisory statement enjoined the new administrator to encourage an open-policy in his relationship with the management of the club and relevant stakeholders to move the club to the next level.
Though admitting tough, the target of securing promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League, insisted that focus, determination and dedication of the players accompanied with motivations could make the course achievable.
“Well, I’m happy with the new administrator put in place by the government to oversee the affairs of the state-owned clubs. It’s a good development as the governor Idris Wada’s administration has continued to show signs of not complacent at repositioning sports in the state. We have been relating and understand him (Hon. Paul Aiyenugba) to be a courageous and ambitious person.
“The Kogi state FA are ready to give him our support as we will also be delighted seeing Kogi United get into the Nigeria top league division – I’ll advised the Mr Paul to the focused, encourage the players to raise their game at getting better results as to get to the next level and be prepared to carry everyone along,” the one-time Nigerian league player posited.
