Molade Okoya-Thomas Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium will be alive on Thursday as Nigerian players begin hostilities in the qualifiers for places in main draw of the first Lagos International Table Tennis Classics as the sportshall has been renovated for the International Table Tennis Federation,ITTF, African Table Tennis Federation ,ATTF, approved tournament.
Competition Manager, John Peters, said thirty two foreign table tennis players had been seeded in the Men's Singles main chart while Nigerian home based players would be paired in thirty two groups of of four players each as one player would merge from the chart of one hundred and twenty eight players.
He added that sixteen ranked world's ping pongers in the Women's Singles had been drawn into the main chart while Nigerian players will be paired in three groups of six players each, adding that the competition is a blessing to the Nigerian ping pongers because it would enable them to acquire skills and gain better experience for competing against world ranked table tennis players.
He said international table tennis players will arrive Nigeria on Saturday for the Lagos International Classic scheduled to begin today at the Sir Molade Okoya Thomas Sportshall, Teslim Balogun Stadium, stressing that the competition's operations would be computerized to meet with the requirement of International table Tennis Federation,ITTF,.
