D'Tigers Is Too Big For Ayo Bakare, Says Ahmedu.

Failure of Nigeria's D'Tigers to pick FIBA World Championship in the last concluded Afrobasket in Abidjan, Cote D'Ivoire has been attributed to the quality of coach handling the team.

Proprietor of Dodan Warriors Basketball Club, Colonel Sam Ahmedu, made this statement while speaking with sportsweight.blogspot.com

Ahmedu, said the management team of Nigeria Basketball Federation,NBBF, claimed that Ayo Bakare, the coach of Comets Basketball was the best hand to tutor the team at the Afrobasket in Abidjan Cote D'Ivoire as the team's result in the championship showed that the coach is not good for the squad.

Dodan Warriors Proprietor, said it was sad that a coach whose team in the DSTV/NBBF Premier League was at the relegation zone is the chief coach of D'Tigers, adding that basketball stakeholders had been complaining about the calibre of Ayo Bakare but the NBBF did not need to their request.

Ahmedu, who noted that the selection of Ayo Bakare as the team's chief coach was based on sentiment, stressing that the job was too big for Bakare as he is the only coach with the team in Cote D'Ivoire while his assistant coaches who were political appointees were not available for the event.

He said Nigeria Basketball Federation,NBBF, should had take advantage of Nigerian basketball coaches who are well spread across the world to make the team record an excellent result in subsequent international competitions.

He stressed that Nigeria had credible and worthy basketball coaches in Masai Ujuri who is the General Manager of Toronto Raptors, Imeh Udoka, who is an assistant coach  of a NBA team,San Antonio Spurs and Cape Verde coach, Alex Onwora, whose team defeated Nigeria's D'Tigers in the Afrobasket.
