MTN Lagos Street Soccer Championship: L.O.C Disqualifies Benson, Arizona Street .

Benson street and Arizona Street  have been disqualified from the season six,  MTN Lagos Street Soccer Championship just as the tournament enters second round this weekend.

Benson street was disqualified for  fielding an ineligible player while Arizona street was sent out of the tournament for match fixing.

Head of Arbitration Panel of the Local Organising Committee, LOC, Austin Akosa, explained that Benson Street  was disqualified after Olowoyele Street protested against the team for fielding an ineligible player,who had featured for an amateur team, Flaming Flamingoes of Lagos in 2003.Benson

He said Benson Street contravened Section 14 of eligibility clause of the competition.


According to him, Arizona Street was disqualified due to a match fixing issue with Akinshina Street as he urged other teams not to bring the competition into disrepute.

The competition enters second round as teams from the various wards slug it out at over twenty match venues across the five administrative divisions of Lagos State.
