Written By sportsweight.blogspot.com on Monday, September 16, 2013 | 1:51 AM

Owing to empty seats at the sportshall of the National Stadium during last  season DSTV/NBBF Premier League, the league sponsor, Multichoice Nigeria, has concluded plans to introduce mobile basketball courts ahead of next DSTV/NBBF Premier league season.

Its General Manager, Marketing and Sales Martin Mabutho, says the gesture is to motivate basketball fans to have renewed interest in watching basketball league as the mobile basketball courts will be moved from one community to another to sensitize basketball fans on the need to support Nigerian basketball league.

Mabutho, says the sportshall of the National Stadium, Surulere, where houses DSTV/NBBF Premier League is not accessible to the fans who want to watch delightful basketball action, adding that the issue of empty seats during last concluded league season was an embarrassment to nation that has produced the likes of Masai Ujuri, Akeem Olajuwon, Olumide Oyedeji among others.

He explains that the investment of  Multichoice Nigeria in the development of basketball cannot be compared to other African countries, hence the reason Multichoice is organising DSTV Basketball All Star Celebrity Jump ball which started on Saturday at the University of Lagos, Akoka.
