The Captain, Team Nigeria to the 2012 London Olympics will be making a return to the mat after his last outing at the last World Championships in Mexico and he will be up against the Uzbek, who is a silver medalist at the 2012 Asian Championships.

As Nigeria’s sole flagbearer, Chukwumerije, who is not seeded for the competition will face the unseeded Uzbek in the first round with the likelihood of confronting the Gabonese in the semi final stage.
According to the President, Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF), George Ashiru, Korea’s Sihwan Keum, who tutored the team to the 2012 London Olympics, will coach Chukwumerije, adding that the event marks the final major event for the NTF in its most dynamic and successful year since the federation was inaugurated by in 1987.
The WTF Grand Prix is the first of four global Grand Prix, with final to be held at the end of 2014 and Great Britain Taekwondo organizes it in partnership with Manchester City Council and UK Sport’s Gold Event Series.
A total of two hundred and fifty World’s top athletes, across eight different weight categories, will come together to battle it out for vital qualification points ahead of Rio 2016 Olympics.
