Captain of Nigeria's Supersand Eagles, Isiaka Olawale, says wining the Copa Lagos Beach Soccer courtesy of a 4-2 defeat of their arch-rival, Senegal was a sweet revenge.
Olawale, said Senegal, the African Champion of Beach Soccer, denied them the opportunith of featuring in the last FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup and the Copa Lagos Beach Soccer Championship was an avenue for them to prove that they are still African Champions despite losing them in the African qualifier.
He said Nigeria's Supersand Eagles had quality players who are determined to made proud Nigeria at the competition as the confidence in them paved the way for their victory against Brazil in the Copa Lagos Beach Soccer after the South America defeated them at the Quarter-final of FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Itally.
He praised the Nigeria Football Association for Kick-starting the Beach Soccer Leage as the move according to him would give room for the discovery of new talented Beach Soccer players who would replace ageing and injured Supersand Eagles.
