While speaking with sportsweight.blogspot.com, the team's coach, Audu Ejo, said the NFA had told him that the team's allowances would be paid this week, adding that the Association which is financially strapped has promised to source for funds to pay them.
Ejo, said the standard of Copa Lagos Beach Soccer tournament was very high following the caliber of Beach soccer countries that featured in the competition on annual basis, stressing that it is the only competition they always competed for apart from the World Cup qualifier.
He said lack of adequate preparations ahead of major tournament did not pave the way for new players to join the crop of old beach soccer players who have been with him for a couple of years..
Ejo, said Nigeria's Beach Eagles alongside Iran,Germany and Lebanon would feature in the four nation tournament in Lebanon,in April, 2014, adding that the team's camp would opened in January, 2014, in Abuja ahead of the tournament, stressing that the availability of a beach soccer complex for the team to train with would pave the way for talented new beach soccer players to join the team.
While commending the NFA for establishing a beach soccer league in Abuja, the coach, said the league would give room to build a solid team through the invitation of players to team, adding that the gesture would enable him to replace ageing beach soccer players who has been with him since inception of Nigeria's Beach Eagles team.
