2014
Head Coach of Nigeria, Stephen Keshi, arrived in Salvador, State of
Bahia only a few minutes to midnight on Wednesday ahead of Friday’s
Draw Ceremony for the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals.
The African champion Coach, whose team was also the first African side
to qualify for the finals, travelled with NFF’s Director of Marketing,
Mr. Adama Idris, NFF’s Assistant Director (Media), Mr. Ademola Olajire
and Super Eagles’ Team Administrator, Dayo Enebi Achor.
The foursome flew from Lagos to Johannesburg and then connected a
South African Airways flight to Sao Paulo, where they connected a GOL
Airline flight to Salvador, and then undertook a one-hour road trip to
the hotel.
President of Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, and
NFF’s Marketing Consultant and FIFA Hospitality partner in Nigeria,
Mr. Mike Itemuagbor will arrive on Thursday night.
On arrival in Salvador, Keshi said: “We are here hoping for a
favourable draw just like every other delegation. But the truth is
that all 32 teams in the race are formidable and no group will be
easy.
“My joy is that my boys have been telling me they want to show the
world what they are capable of doing at the finals next year summer.
We respect all the teams but do not fear any.”
The Nigeria delegation, booked into the Hotel Sauipe Fun in the Costa
do Sauipe Resort, where the Draw Ceremony will take place on Friday,
attended a meeting of all Participating Member Associations on
Thursday afternoon.
