Onaopemipo, Abumu Win T.P.V Nair Memorial Squash Championship

It was a spectacular day for both Onaopemipo Adegoke and Mavis Abumu who won the 3rd edition of T.P.V Nair Memorial Squash championship which took place last weekend at the Squash indoor of National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
A three day sporting event paraded about 52 players who slugged it out with one another for supremacy at the epoch making championship.
Onaopemipo who had earlier boasted of surpassing the past record maintained the winning streak as he was able to defend the title he won last year having defeated Desmond Ighodala 2-0 in the Under-16 ctegory to add another gold to his archive.
In the Girl's category, Mavis Abumu also exhibited the stuff she was made of when she defeated Durosimi Aishat in the category, 2-1 to clinch the gold in that category.
Clinton Ighodala in the under-14 category was the fans favourite with a brilliant performance that gave him victory over Debutu Emmanuel in a 2-1 trilling match.
Speaking at the sporting event, the sponsor of the championship, Chief Vijay Nair said that the purpose of the championship is to create a platform for catching the talents young where they can play with their own group
