Oyo State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Umar Faruq Alao, says the ongoing DAWN Games will enhance the development of grassroot sports in the South-Western Nigeria.
Alao, who was among the top dignitaries that watched the Semi-final clash between Lagos and Oyo State, said the victory was a testimony to the aggressive developmental programmes which the state government had delved into for a couple of years.
The Sports Commissioner, said the Games had enabled him to assess the players performance before the National Sports Festival in Calabar, Cross River State, stressing that the collection of disciplined football jugglers would be monitored and create an avenue for them to join 3sc football club or crown F.C
He thanked the state's Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, for providing necessary financial assistance to aid the growth of Sports in the state, stressing that the state athletes to the calabar 2014 National Sports Festival would be strengthened with the necessary assistance to surpass their records in the history of the Sports Festival.
