Awori Street of Dolphin Estate, Ikoyi, has been crowned champion of Egbeda Centre of the maiden edition of Pepsi Street Cup Tournament which ended over the weekend in Lagos State.
At the Kuwait playground, Gowon Estate, Egbeda, Awori Street of Dolphins Estate that competed in the competition alongside over two hundred grassroot clubs defeated G Boys Street of Gbagada by a lone goal to smile home with the sum of five hundred thousand naira.
The eventually winner that paraded star studded players who are determined to grab the half a million naira at stake fought hard to score a goal against the G Boys Street that got two hundred and fifty thousand naira while Ajao Jimoh beat Moving Train Street in the third place match to grab one hundred and fifty thousand naira.
Some of the players who spoke with sportweight.blogspot.com, commended the sponsor Seven-Up Bottling Company for creating opportunity for the teeming grassroot football players to exhibit their skills in the five A- side football competition which was played in nine cities of Nigeria.
