Nigeria's Badminton Players Need Regular International Tourney To Acquire Points

Nigeria’s number two badminton player, Enejor Abbah, has described the nation’s victory in the mixed doubles event at the just concluded Lagos International Badminton classic as the best since he has been playing doubles event.
Abbah, a staff of Nigeria Security Civil and Defence Corps, NSCDC, said he was happy because they were able to break the jinx as the pair of Andres Malan and Jennifer Fry of South Africa had been dominating and tormenting them in the past one year in doubles event.
While claiming that they have what it takes to be rated among the best badminton players in the world, the badminton player, who loss at the round of 32 in the Men’s singles due to lack of concentration, said the Nigeria Badminton Federation needed to lure both corporate bodies and sports philanthropists to assist them in competing in international tournaments to improve their rating and exposure.
Abbah who loss to the pair of Andres Malan and Jennifer Fry of South Africa at an international competition in the Doubles event in Botswana, said his priority was to represent Nigeria at the Olympic in 2016, adding that he was impressed with the standard, exposure and organization of the competition.
South African ace Badminton player, Andres Malan, who accepted the defeat in good fate said it had always been a tough game whenever Nigeria and South Africa play against each other in the doubles event.
Malan, who attributed the defeat to Nigeria in Mixed Doubles to lack of concentration, said the pair of Enejor Abbah and Tosin Atolagbe were very technical better as they deserved to win following their good displayed of badminton artistry.
