NFA In Mad Rush To Extend Stephen Keshi Contract.

Following the removal of Aminu Maigari as the President of the Nigeria Football Association,NFA, the association's Executive Committee, has called for the service of Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi.

Keshi, who had declared his intension to resigning after winning the African Cup of Nations in South Africa in 2012, said he would leave the team following the crisis that rocked the Super Eagles at the last concluded Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup where the Eagles were defeated by France at the round of sixteen.

After an emergency meeting held today in Abuja, the NFA Executive Committee has mandated its Technical Sub- Committee to open channels of communication with the Super Eagles handler, Stephen Keshi, with a view of extending his contract as they are still interested in his good coaching job.

The Technical Sub- Committee as a matter of urgency is expected to report back to the Executive Committee within one week as other African nations especially South Africa have shown interest in the former Eagles defender and captain.

The committee that expressed satisfaction with the arrangement made so for the Falconets, Flying Eagles and Golden Eaglets ahead of important international matches and qualifying games also mandated the NFA Management to proceed with discussions with a number of African countries with a view to the Super Eagles playing a friendly match on the FIFA window of Wednesday, 13^thAugust, 2014, as part of preparations for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches.

The Committee which approved arrangements being made to host the grand finale of the 2014 Men and Women Federation Cup competitions in Lagos on Saturday,16^th August, 2014,reaffirmed that the 2014 Elective Congress/General Assembly will still hold on Tuesday, 26th of August, 2014.

Meanwhile, an emergency congress of the association will hold next Thursday in Abuja in order to ratfy the removal of Aminu Maigari.

Congress of the Nigeria Football Federation will be convened in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Thursday, 31^st July, 2014 to ratify the removal of Aminu Maigari
