Ekpo Begs Godswill Akpabio For WBO World Title.

Nigeria’s World Boxing Organisation,WBO, African champion, Isaac Ekpo, has called on the Minister for Sports,Tammy Danagogo and the Governor of Akwa Ibom, Godswill Akpabio, to support his quest of becoming the next WBO World champion.

Ekpo, who defeated a Ghanaian boxer, Peter  Ato Ricketts , to claim he WBO Africa title belt, said he had been training very hard ahead of the WBO contest and he wants the bout to be staged in his state, Akwa Ibom in a bid to prove his worth as a competent and Nigeria’s world class boxer who want to surpass the recods of other Nigerian boxers.

The pugilist, who has a records of 25 wins, 18 knock –out, 2 defeat out of 27 bouts, said it was disheartening that he lost his against Germany’s boxer, Robert  Stieglitz, in the WBO world title bout, in Germany, in 2013, because he deserved to win the fight despite having an edge over the Germany’s pugilist.

Ekpo, who has to fight the winner between Paul Smith, a challenger and the defending champion, Author Abraham, in a bout fixed for next month, said Nigerian Army and Nigeria Boxing Board of Control,NBBof C, had been supporting his dream of becoming WBO Super middle weight champoion and he would not relent to make Nigeria proud.
