The Lagos State Sports Council has organised a one-day sensitisation talk on the outbreak of Ebola virus as over 200 participants took part in the exercise.
Speaking during the event, Director of Sports, Lagos State Sports Council, Dr. Kweku Tandoh said that the sensitisation talk was to enlighten its athletes, coaches, sports officers and sports association secretaries the opportunity of acquainting themselves with practical measures to prevent and to curb the spread of the viral infection.
He commended the effort of the state government to curtail the spreading of the deadly virus.
Doctor Bukky Bojuwoye of the Sports Medicine Unit of Lagos State Sports Council, advised participants to enlighten members of their families and neighbours about the deadly disease and how to prevent it.
Public Relations Officer, P.R.O, of the Sports Council, Bashir Agunloye, said publication materials on tips on how to prevent people from contacting the virus produced by the Lagos State Government were distributed to participants.
