Former Nigeria captain Jay Jay Okocha has only words of praise for the Amaju Pinnick –led board of Nigeria Football Federation for sponsoring quality education for workers in football.
A total of 30 referees have been trained in two different programmes and Okocha, now chairman of the NFF Technical Study, was in the 18-man delegation of coaches and ex-internationals who just returned from a nine –day special training in the United Kingdom.
“My brother, my eyes were opened to so many things at the training programme. It was very good quality education for all of us in the group and I can say the new NFF administration is getting it right.
“I spent several years playing in England and in other countries, and at the top level internationally. But what I have learnt over the past week in the United Kingdom is priceless,” Okocha told thenff.com in London.
The group, which returned to Nigeria on Wednesday, was led by member of NFF Executive Committee Chris Green and also included Amodu Shaibu, Ladan Bosso, John Obuh, Garba Lawal, Salisu Yusuf, Dahiru Sadi, Ann Chiejine, Kelechi Emeteole, Nasiru Jibril, Paul Aigbogun, David Ngodigha, Yisa Sofoluwe, Edema Fuludu, Florence Omagbemi, Idris Musa and Ahmed Yaro-Yaro.
Former Arsenal official Daniel Stones and NFF’s Envoy/International Consultant Tunde Adelakun coordinated the programme, which was sponsored by Taleveras Foundation.
