Nigeria's Golden Eaglets on Tuesday defeated Nationwide One side Shekarau Babes 2-1 at the Abuja National Stadium.
Ebere Emeka and Victor Osimhen scored for the Golden Eaglets after Adam Khalifa had put the visiting in front.
Incidentally, Former Executive Governor of Kano State, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau who is the owner of the Kano-based side was a distinguished spectator at the match that also had in attendance Dr. Emmanuel Ikpeme and Coach Siji Lagunju.
There were few chances in the first half but midway Adam Khalifanearly put Shekarau Babes in the lead but his shot bounced off the post.
In the 54th minute, Austin Godwin finally got the curtain raiser albeit through penalty kick after Udochukwu Anumudu fell his marker in the box.
Five minutes later Ebere Emeka saw his shot wide off the mark in front of an empty goal post but he redeemed himself in the 79th minute.
In the 85th minute, Victor Osimhen added the winner with the header off a deep-lying cross by John Michael.
In a related development, the Golden Eaglets had on Monday beat another Kano-based side Dabo Babes on Monday at the NFF-FIFA Goal Project Pitch courtesy of Victor Osimhen solitary goal.
Both matches were geared towards the team's preparation for the World Cup holding in Chile between October 17 and November 8th
