No Home Based Super Eagles, Says Dikko

The League Management Company, LMC, has strongly appealed to Nigerian Sport journalists and football fans not to label the team of domestic league players in the nation's senior squad as home based Super Eagles.

Its chairaman, Sheu Dikko, made the statement while reacting to six domestic league players invited to join Nigeria's Super Eagles camp for the two international friendlies match against Cameroon and Democratic Republic of Congo in Belgium.

Dikko who is also the second Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association, NFF, said  the present Board of NFF and national coaches had the  same vision of creating an enabling environment for Nigerian football players to have a sense of purpose and responsibility of serving the nation.

He added that the nation had only Super Eagles and not  home based Super Eagles ,stressing that the super eagles was opened to Nigerian football players whether a foreign professional or domestic players.

He said the motivation of any football players was an indication that the player has the quality to play for Nigeria's Super Eagles adding that labeling of players as home based Eagles was a means of discouraging them.
