Nigeria's Supporters Club has called on the government at all levels to invest heavily in the club in order to support the nation's national teams while competing in continental and international competitions.
Its President, Rauf Ladipo, said the club was cash strapped to travel for international competitions with the view of supporting the national teams to win laurels as he explained that member were heavily tasked to contribute money before embarking on any international or local trip.
While explaining that it would cost each member the sum of one hundred and eighty thousand naira to travel to Senegal for the ongoing Africa Under twenty- three Cup of Nations, Ladipo, said Federal Government, Sports inclined Governors and corporate bodies should rally support for the club since they are the nation's ambassadors.
Having been to the Senate and House of Representative to canvass or assistance, the club's President General, boasted that Nigeria's Supporters Club had a unique structure that was far better than others supporters clubs in the world.
Ladipo, who thanked President Goodluck Jonathan for supporting the club with the sum of fifty million naira during the FIFA World Cup in South Africa, said the club still went ahead to source for One hundred and forty- one million naira to enable his members to be part of FIFA 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
He stressed that the club's marketing committee would not incorporate NFF's Marketing Committee since the federation claimed not to be financial buoyant to execute its programmes.
