The management of Akwa United has expressed happiness for picking a point against MFM FC in the first League of the second stanza of the Nigeria Professional Football League,NPFL.
Its Chairman, Paul Bassey, said the match result was fair since most top clubs in the NPFL hardly pick a point at the Agege Stadium, Agege, which is the home ground of the club, adding that both teams displayed good artistry of football to admiration of soccer fans.
On the home League match against ABS of Ilorin, Bassey, said the team's priority was to get a maximum three points to stand in a vintage position to pick continental ticket, hence the reason the club had to fortify the team with crediable players after the break.
Having defeated MFM FC, two- nil, in the first leg of the league, the club's chairman, said it would have been a disgrace if his club had lost against MFM since the Lagos based club had boasted to avenge the defeat, hence the reasons the players redoubled their efforts to make the team proud.
He explained the invitation of one of his valuable players, Al-hassan to the Super Eagles would not affect the club's perfomance in subsequent league matches since the club had won some league matches without Al-hassan.
