Former Super Eagles and Feyenoord Rotterdam FC Forward, Mike Obikwu, has charged the present crop of Super Eagles football players to forget the two-nil home defeat to the Bafana Bafana of South Africa and concentrate on the match against Cameroon in the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Obikwu said the team should see the defeat as a wake up call to begin preparing for the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup against the Idomitable Lions of Cameroon which standard of football had improved, hence the reason why the team was able to win the Gabon 2018 Afcon which qualified the squad for the FIFA Confederation Cup.
While
noting that there are no minnows in African football, the former
Nigeria's international said, Bafana Bafana of South Africa and the
prominent African football playing nations were always scared of playing
against Nigeria during his playing days, adding that the standard had
been falling since the nation lack a well structured football
organisation.
