Olohunwa Under 15 Soccer Cup Begins.

A total of eight goals have so far been scored in the maiden edition of the Olohunwa Under 15 Soccer Championship which began on Monday at the Campos Square Mini Stadium, Lagos Island.
In the first match played today, Ojokoro Branch of the National Union Road Transport Workers beat their counterparts from Ifelodun by seven goals to six via penalties after the match ended one goal apiece.
The second elimination match between Lagos Urban Buses Excellence Branch and Onigbongbo Opebi Branch of NURTW was the centre of attraction as soccer fans were thrilled with soccer prowess displayed by the young football players.
Kehind Akinola of Onigbongbo Opebi Branch scored the first goal in the first half as Gbenga Osho increased the tally to two nil.
Charity Ismaila scored Ojokoro Branch first goal as Taye Akinola netted the third goal for Onigbongbo Opebi while Ajiboye Azeez scored Ojokoro second goal as Lukman Jimoh sealed the aspiration of their opponent.
The tournament coordinator, Afolabi Onanaike, who commended thrio of Sanusi Ibrahim, Yusuf Ganiyu and Tope Ogunnla for fair officiating called on the committee in charge of football under the auspiece of Adopt- A- Talents in Lagos State to visit the match to select players for future competitions.
Onanaike, said the display of soccer prowess by te young football players was an indication that the Nigeria Football Federation shoul establish many football academies across the nation.
The Chairman of Lagos State of National Union Of Road Transport Workers, Rafiu Akanni Olohunwa, who expressed satisfaction wih the standard of the competition, said the competition would obviously be an avenue for Nigeria Football Federation to pick virile young players who could become future Nigerian players.
Olohunwa, said there is to engage the youth with regular football programmes that would enhace their future and also help them to exhibit their skills which could earn them a better contarct, exposure and future through exporting their football talents beyond Nigeria.
In tomorrow's fixtures, team A from Ikeja will meet Sem Kweme in the first match while team F from Alimosho will face Alimosho Golden in the second encounter.
