Lagos MTN Plans Big For Fourth MTN Street Soccer Championship.

The Lagos State and MTN have concluded arrangements to widen the scope of the next edition of the MTN Street Soccer Championship tagged Season Four.

Its Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social development, Prince Ademola Adeniji Adele, revealed this at the finalof this year's edition at Campos Square Mini Stadium which came to a close on Sunday at the Campos Square Mini Stadium.

Adeniji Adele, informed Sportsweight.blog.spot.com that the organisers was taking the tournament to the next level where the best three teams in the tournament would be empowered in addition to the start prize money attached to the event.

The commissioner, said the largesse would earn each player and a manager a tricycle, Laruti model, to make a living as the gesture would create an opportunity for the players and managers to improve their standard of living.

The Chief Executive Officer of MTN, Bola Akingbade, who agreed with Adeniji Adele plight to expand the scope of te tournament, said the package of prizes and incentive would be enhanced to make it more worthwhile for the people to take part in the tournament and for the standard to get higher.

He said the tournament has helped to stimulate general interest in local football, stressing that the past three weeks have been interesting as Seven hundred and eighty eight teams made up to highly talented youths across the state.

Akingbade, said it was gartifying to see the youth demonstrating some of the things Nigeria need to imbibe as individual and as a nation in order to make Nigeria a country of our dream.

He said the company was satisfied to sponsor the tournamnet because it gives the youths, a challenge to achieve a common goal as he rated the tournament's standrad very high as the spectators were delighted to watch a scintilating football.

He saluted Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola for his positive development in the state, adding that MTN would not relent in its efforts to continue partnering the state to develop football.

He said some of te youth would have delve into crime but the establishment of regular football tournaments in the state have encouraged the youth to take into sports, thus empowering them through sports.
