Governor Ibikunle Amosun, has approved about One hundered and fifty million naira(N150,00000.00) to run Gateway Football Club of Abeokuta in the National Pro- League season which started last week.
The club's team manager, Tajudeem Disu, who made the statement in an interview with Sportsweight.blogspot.com, said the governor's gesture has enabled the club's management to increase the player's salary as well as other incentives in a bid to return to the Premier league next season.
The former Nigeria International, said 12 football players from the club which was relegated to the Pro - league were retained while the remaining twemty eight football players were selected after a thorough screening as he explained that the club's amangement had paid the players sign- on fees in a bid to put them in a right frame of mind to return the club to the Premier league.
In a bid to record victory in its first home league match against Bendel United, Disu, said the club's stakeholders had embarked on sensitization campaign for the state's sports fans to turn out enmass to the M.K.O Abioloa Stadium to support their darling team.
