Concord Battles Mehuru FC In MAF Cup Final

The long awaited soccer final of the 4th edition of Hon Moruff Akinderu-Fatai (MAF) Unity Cup will be decided this Sunday February 12th, 2012 at the Nigeria Air force sports complex, NAF Base Ikeja, Lagos.

The final match slated for the noon will witness a keenly contested final between Mehuru-mehuru FC of Oshodi and its counterpart from Mafoluku, Concord FC just as lots of dignitaries are anticipated to grace the occasion.

Though the final game earlier scheduled for early January had to be shifted to this date due to the nationwide strike action the engulfed the nation in Jnauray over the removal of fuel subsidy by Federal Government.

Before reaching this stage, the Oshodi based Mehuru FC eliminated Golden Talents FC
4 - 2 in the first semi final played in 2011 while Concord FC defeated All Stars FC by 2 - 1 as well thus advanced to the final lap of the money spinning championship sponsored by Hon Moruff Akinderu-Fatai reprsenting Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency one, in Abuja.

All Stars FC whose gallant moves in the championship was halted in the semifinal will be seeking glory as they play Golden Talents FC in the third place match battle that will come up earlier before the final on same day.

Meanwhile, the winner and runners up will go home with cash reward for their efforts to have reach this stage of the championship that featured over sixty teams from the State and other neighbouring states too.
