Lagos TaeKwondo Ready To Top Medals Table.

Lagos State Taekwando Association,has reiterated its commitment to top the medals table in the 18th National Sports Festival,tagged Eko 2012 Games in November.

Its Patron,Tayo Popoola,said the association's Eko Taekwondo championship at Terra Kulture,victoria Island,was a step towards achieving the best overall award in the sport as talents discovered at the event would be invited to camp preparatory to the Games.

Popoola,said the Ministry of Youths sports&social Development would be responsible for the athletes invited to camp while the association technical crew would engage the athletes on modern techniques to outwit their opponents during the Games proper.

While in camp,popoola assured that the athletes would be exposed to series of internal and national tournaments in a bid to prepare them towards a successful outing in November.

The association chairman,Jimmy Ogunnowo said forty taekwondoists were already in open camp and plans are in top gear to increase the number with the new crop of talented athletes discovered from the event.

Ogunnowo said the association was blessed with an olympic bronze medalist who would assist by educating the athletes on the currents rules, stressing that the international body has introduced new rules and regulations and it would be wise to keep abreast of the latest happenings in Taekwondo.
