It was a moment of tears and joy as the Falconets Chief Coach, Edwin Okon, dropped four players from the final squad of 21 football players ahead of the FIFA Under 20 Women's World Cup which gets underway this Sunday in Japan.
The affected players are, Goalkeeper, Bidemi Aluko, defensive midfielder, Prudent Ugo, forward, Chisom Henry and midfielder, Ugochi Okafor .
The list was announced by the team's technical crew hours after its final training session in Namhae, Korea.
In a bid to console the affected football players, the team's goalkeeper trainer,Taiwo Ajobiewe-Asikogu, told the players that she was dropped ahead of the FIFA Women's Women World Cip in 1999, in United States of America but she is going to the 2012 FIFA Women's Cup in Japan as a goalkeeper trainer.
Assistant Coach, Florence Omagbemi, urged the players to always develop the right spirit at all times.
Team Coach, Edwin Okon, who claimed that it was a hard decision to drop the players, appealed to them to always pray for the team.
The team is due to leave Korea for Japan while the axed players will head to Nigeria on the same day.
