Former Super Eagles Star, Victor Nosa Ikpeba, has urged other states commissioner for Sports to emulate Lagos State zeal and determination to develop grassroot sports in the state.
The former Prince of Monaco, said a whole lot of Super Eagles players who represented Nigeria at the U.S Ninety four FIFA World Cup and the present players in the national team were product of grassroot football.
Ikpeba, said all the sports programmes which the state's commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social development, Prince Ademola Adeniji Adele discussed at the media parley with sports managers were the bedrock of sports development, stressing that Lagos State has always been the envy of other states in the area of sporting activities.
He added that the gesture would help in discovering talents who could become Nigeria's future football stars, stressing that the state must ensure that the sports programmes are organised and managed by credible sports administrators who are well endowed how best to manage sports.
He said Nigeria was naturally endowed with abundant talents in various sporting activities but lack of organised structures to project them to limelight has been the major problem.
