Nasarawa United Forty Million To Players and Officials

The Nigeria Football Federation has praised the Nasarawa State government for its move to pay the sum of Forty Six million naira it has been owing players and officials for couple of years.

Secretary of the Nigeria National League, Ayo Rahaman, who made this known, said the State Government, owners of the Club, has already paid the sum of ten million naira into the coffers of the League Board with a pledge to lodge another instalment today.

The Nigeria National League had already effected payment to players and officials of two other Clubs in that cadre who were being owed by their Clubs. These are El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri and Akwa United FC of Uyo.

In the case of El-Kanemi Warriors, the Club has paid a sum of Six Million, Nine Hundred Thousand Naira, which has since been shared out to 15 players and officials.

Rahman, said the League body was still looking for George Essien, Chinedu Agwu, Emeka Oduenyi, Chukwudi Onogbo and Fidelis Eze of El-Kanemi Warriors to receive their monies.

Akwa United FC paid the sum of Sixteen Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira out of which 14 players have been paid by the National League as Obinna Amakor is the only yet tobe be paid.

The Nigeria Football Federation decided to take a hard line against Clubs owing players and officials playing in the domestic Leagues, as players and officials continued to suffer in the hands of defaulting Club administrators.
