
A team of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF, will on Thursday through Friday begin an inspect facilities in Lagos ahead the jump-ball date of the 2009/2010 NBBF/DSTV Premier League season.
The team comprises the federation President, Tijjani Umar, the Federation''s Technical Committee Chairman, Muktar “Malone” Khaleh and Secretary General, Francis Gbiri
The NBBF team alongside top officials of the league sponsor, Multichoice Nigeria owners of DSTV pay-television will inspect such facilities as the sports hall of the national stadium, Lagos , sports hall of the University of Lagos Sports Centre and the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre, Rowe Park .
According to the NBBF, the move was to ascertain the playing conditions of the venues before the commencement of the much awaited season.
The NBBF team will round off the visit with a crucial meeting with management team of DSTV on one hand, club owners and the sporting press.
Meanwhile, the postponed national Division-One Championship earlier billed for Ilorin , Kwara State will now hold at the sports hall of the Murtala Square , Kaduna from April 16 through 24.
The Division-One Championship was moved to Kaduna for logistics reason and all the participating teams are expected to be in Kaduna on Friday April 16 while actions start April 17.
The Division-One Championship was earlier schedule to hold between March 27 and April 4 was postponed due to some technical hitches.
But the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF has assured teams that the championship will go on as schedule with Kaduna State hosting.
The Division-One Championship which was last played in 2003 will serve as avenue for the lower teams to seek promotion to the elite premier league.
