Henry Amike was born on the fourth of October 1961.Amike came the new President of Nigeria Olympic Assoiciation after the exits of Smart Abraka.

He is a retired Nigerian athletes who specialized in 400 metres hurdles.

In 1984 Olympic Games Amike came Eight in 400 metres hurdles, held in Los Angeles, United States.He came second at the African Championship held in Rabat, Morocco, in 1984.

In 1985, Amike won a Bronze medal at the Universiade, I Kobe, Japan, in 400 hurdles.
Also in 1985, Amike, won a Bronze medal at the Africa Championships, in Cairo, Egypt.

At the World Championship in Rome,Italy, in 1987,the 400 metres came sixth as he clinched the 3rd position at the Al Africa Games in Nairobi, Kenya.

In 1988, Amike, settled for a Silver medal at the African Championship, in Annaba, Algeria, while he clinched seventh position at the Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea, 4 by 400 metres.

1989,Amike, won a Gold Medal a the African Championships, in Lagos as he went to the World Cup, Barcelona, Spain, to win a Silver medal.
